Mount St John Equestrian
Emma Blundell, Managing Director of Mount St John has set up this forward-thinking dressage stud which is now firmly established as one of the leading breeding and competition operations in the country. Mount St John horses are winning at both national and international level and several of the horses have won national titles.
Mount St John was set up by Emma Blundell to specialise in breeding top dressage horses. Emma has a degree in Business Management and a First-Class Masters in Entrepreneurship from Manchester Business School. Emma spent her youth competing in showing and dressage. She has competed up to Prix St Georges in dressage and hopes to move up to Grand Prix in the near future.
Emma has used
the business acumen developed by her time studying alongside her extensive dressage competition experience to develop Mount St John into an elite breeding business. Embryo transfer is a big part of breeding at Mount St John. Emma’s philosophy is to breed by embryo transfer from top competition mares.
Such is the success of Mount St John, the stud now employs a full time on-site vet and breeding manager to assist Emma in overseeing both the planning and day-to-day operations at Mount St John.
Resident Mount St John rider, Lucinda Elliot is assisted by Jayden Brown in bringing on and training the horses for dressage. Mount St John horses are also placed with other elite riders, including Absorbine ambassador, Charlotte Dujardin who has taken national titles in 2017 with Mount St John Freestyle and Mount St John VIP.
